International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) Team Leaders' Meeting
505th SRG Search and Rescue Plan 2028: Strategic Communication and Stakeholders' Support. 505th SRG recently participated in the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) Team Leaders' Meeting last 07 - 09 September 2016 in Tokyo, Japan.
The event was attended by 157 participants from 58 countries with the Director for Operations of 505th SRG as one of the participants.
The topics during the meeting included the adoption of INSARAG Guidelines on the capacity building of the national (local deployment) Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Teams; the inclusion of the Light USAR Teams for INSARAG External Classification (international deployment), previously for Medium and Heavy USAR Teams only; and the application of KoBo Toolbox Software in managing On-Site Operations Cooordination Center (OSOCC).
The take away for the Philippine USAR Team is the declaration of support of the participants from the United Kingdom and Germany under the Rescue Global for our capacity building, particularly on training and support systems. Moreover, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) had also reiterated the support of the Japanese Government as our Official Mentor for the INSARAG External Classification of the Philippine USAR Team.
