"ANGELS IN ACTION"

      
          The 505th SRG and SM Hotels and Conventions Incorporated jointly conducted a one-day Disaster preparedness Tabletop Exercise aimed at enhancing collaboration among them last 11 Oct 2016. During the said activity, the 505th SRG presented its various capabilities in responding to different disasters. The Incident Command System was also reviewed to ensure that the two entities have a common and standard approach to disaster response. The 3 most important takeaways of the activity are the following: (1) identification of vulnerabilities, weaknesses and strengths of both agencies; (2) elimination of communication barriers to accelerate response times; and (3) crafting of concrete disaster preparedness joint plan that will be the basis of future simulated HADR exercises. The SMHCI group was led by MGEN Sonny Manalo AFP (Ret), the VP for security of the company.
